Here is what you can expect on your first visit to our office.

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, a member of our team will welcome you as the newest member of our continually growing family. We ask that you complete your New Patient Paperwork prior to your appointment time. This paperwork is important as it provides us and the doctor with general information about yourself and your condition. If you can not fill out the paperwork prior to your first visit, please arrive 10-15 minutes early so you can complete it in our office. Our staff is always willing to help you with any questions you may have.

Consultation

Once the paperwork is taken care of, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health related problems, concerns, as well as possible treatment options. This is designed to allow the doctor to learn about you, your condition, and your expectations to see how chiropractic care can meet your needs.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a thorough examination including orthopedic, neurological, and postural testing will be performed to determine which tissues are involved and to what extent.

X-Ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist the doctor in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examinations and all appropriate studies, in most cases the doctor will generally provide the patient with their first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physiotherapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, the doctor will provide the patient with instructions with certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are see within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete report of findings, including the doctor reviewing the patient's x-rays (if taken). Treatment options for your condition will be discussed by the doctor during this time.
